Ministry: Mission Trip India
2004 India Mission Trip
July 5, 2004
Dear Prayers partners in Christ,
We had a very hectic but fruitful time at Itanagar. 65 delegates from all over Arunachal Pradesh registered for the Training Program. Many could not come because some did not receive information on time and others had pre-engagement. With great enthusiasm the training began on July 1 and ended successfully on July 4. Rev. Chipu (the Pastor of the Town Baptist Church, Naharlagun) and Rev Ama (the Executive Secretary of Nishi Baptist Churches Association) extended their whole-hearted partnership and helped in coordinating the program. Mr. Norbu Lama (older brother of AK) and Mr. Alfred Valui (AK had discipled him and now he is full time UESI staff) were actively involved organizing training program.
Our five days of stay in Itanagar has been filled with excitement as we renewed fellowship with many of our old friends -- some who had come to know the Lord through AK’s ministry in the past, others who had been partners in AK’s previous ministry. In the training conference AK taught two sessions on “Interpreting Bible,” and preached one devotional message daily. While Asangla taught one sessions on the “Basic Skill of Counseling.” The most effective part of this conference has been AK’s preaching in evenings. The evening meeting was open for all. As the Lord led AK to challenge for absolute surrender to missionary work, several participants made commitments each evening. Then on Sunday, he preached in the Town Baptist Church where around 500 stood up to show their commitment and surrendered their life to Christ. In the evening, AK preached in the EGF Meeting where the Home Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Mr. Wanglat and his wife, were also present. The Lord blessed the fellowship as AK preached powerfully on “Theology Conviction and Action of A True Christian.”
AK and Asangla had a very fruitful time with senior Christian government officials and the Church leaders. Many came to seek counseling and advice. WE PRAISE GOD FOR BLESSING OUR TRIP AT ITANAGAR. Thank you all for lifting us up in your prayers. We plan to stay with our relatives until July 8 and then travel by bus and train to New Delhi and Missouri. We will appreciate your prayers for our stay and travel.
